Title Tax Associate

This position will offer the opportunity to grow as a professional within public accounting and the ability to master new skills in the areas of Tax and A&A.

The Tax Associate will be guided and managed by senior staff, supervisors or managers on assignments.  They will be trained and developed by senior staff regarding tax related procedures, issues and firm procedures as the firm believe in mentoring all employees to allow for career advancement and to promote from within.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of individual, fiduciary, partnership and corporate tax returns.
  • Preparation of tax workpapers, tax reconciliations and importing trial balances into tax software.
  • Preparation of financial statement reports.
  • Researches non-complex tax issues and questions utilizing firm provided research tools.
  • Various bookkeeping tasks including bank reconciliation, adjusting journal entries, recording bank activity and report preparation in QuickBooks.
  • Actively participate in continuing education and professional growth activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 1-3 years of recent public accounting experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
  • Motivated to work independently but also be a team player.
  • Excels with time management skills and able to manage and meet multiple deadlines. Proficient with Microsoft Office products; Experience with CCH ProSystems, Engagement, and Axcess preferred.
