Many clients have reported receiving a notice from the Massachusetts Department of Revenue (DOR) for non-payment of their trust’s 2016 income tax liability.

The MA DOR informed us they are 4-6 weeks behind in posting payments and this is causing the late-payment notices. Once the Form 2 payments and vouchers are posted, this matter should be resolved. We advise clients to not take action and not respond to these notices until the DOR posts the payments.

If you have any questions regarding DOR notices, please contact your ALL advisor or reach out to ALL for more information.
